Will Wilson has been in leadership and leader development positions throughout his adult life. A graduate of West Point in 1963, Will served with combat units, including the 5th Special Forces Airborne in Vietnam before the Army supported his pursuit of a higher degree and sent him back to school to earn a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. After serving as the Division Psychologist for the 25th Infantry Division, he returned to West Point and established the Cadet Counseling Center and the Center for Leadership and Personal Development at West Point. He created a mentor centered leader development program and directed the Office of Leader Development Integration for the Superintendent. Since his retirement from the military with the rank of colonel in 1992, he has been an active clinical and I/O psychologist, educator, and consultant focusing on leadership under stress and learning-centered organizations. He is the past-president of the American Psychological Association's Division 19 - the Society for Military Psychology. He is also actively pursuing the vision of establishing an organization to connect veterans and the military community with needed helping resources. He has held faculty and leadership positions in distance education and active learning experiences to include Faculty Chair and Director of Training and Post doctorial programs. He writes and advocates for a "learning-centered" educational model. Dr. Wilson is also actively engaged in work with leaders and teams experiencing the most demanding and extreme leader and team demands. This work includes decision-making, resiliency, and attaining potential for teams and leaders.
